Review GOAT

The GOAT is an animated film from Sony Pictures Animation that leans into comedy, heart, and a bit of absurdity—exactly the kind of mix the studio is known for. The story centers around a goat who dreams big and refuses to be limited by expectations, giving the film both humor and an underdog message.

What works well
Firstly, the animation style is vibrant and expressive. Like other Sony Animation films, it doesn’t aim for strict realism but instead focuses on personality and exaggerated motion, which makes the characters feel alive.

In addition, the humor is light and accessible. There are plenty of jokes for younger audiences, but also some clever moments that older viewers can enjoy. Another advantage is that the film carries a positive  message about confidence and self-belief. The goat’s journey is simple but relatable, especially for anyone who has ever felt underestimated.

On the other hand, the storyline can feel predictable at times. It follows a familiar “dream big and prove others wrong” formula, so it may not surprise viewers looking for something new. However, some side characters are not deeply developed, which makes parts of the story feel a bit shallow. Also, the pacing in the middle section might feel slightly slow compared to the energetic beginning and ending.

Final thoughts
Overall, The GOAT is an enjoyable and feel-good animated movie. It may not reinvent the genre, but it delivers strong visuals, humor, and a clear message. It’s a solid choice for a casual watch, especially if you like fun, character-driven animation.
